Robert Andersson, MSc, MEd, PhD, FAAO, FBCLAAssistant Professor of BioMedicineand Clinical Optometry

Dr. Andersson is a lecturer in biomedicine doctoral studies and a senior instructor for controlled patient care rotations.
He is a native of Sweden but grew up and received his initial Optometrists education in Finland. In 1998, he graduated as an Optometrist from the Helsinki IV Health Care College; in 2010, he graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO), Salus University; in 2018, he received a Doctorate Ph.D. in BioMedicine from Salus University, and in 2023 he completed his MEd degree.
Additionally, he achieved the American Academy of Optometry Fellowship in 2015 and the British Contact Lens Association Fellowship in 2018.
Dr. Andersson specializes in clinical medicine, retinal disease, myopia management, medical research, and clinical education pedagogy.
His Ph.D. work was in geriatric eye care and age-related eye diseases among nursing home residents in the US. He has continuing research interests in clinical medicine, aging, public health, myopia management, clinical education, and retinal and age-related eye disease pathophysiology.
